Crying a river...

These are two poems which my daughter got sent home with on her last day of kindergarten.  I cried my eyes out.

"You are a very special person
And you should really know,
How I loved to be your teacher,
How fast the year did go.

Please come back and visit me
As through the grades you grow,
Try hard to learn all you can,
There is so much to know.

One thing I tried to teach you
To last your whole life through,
Is to know that you are special,
Just because you are you.

Good luck in First Grade!
I am very proud of you!"

"I Give You Back Your Child"

I give you back your child, the same child
you confidently entrusted to my care last fall.
I give them back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser,
more responsible, and more mature than they were before.
I give them back reluctantly, for we have spent 10 months together
in the narrow confines of our small classroom.

We have grown close and have become a lasting part of each others lives.
We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, cried,
and yes, even disagreed with each other.
But in the end, we have enriched each others lives beyond expectation.

Ten years from now if we meet on the street, your child and I,
a light will shine in our eyes, and a smile will form on our lips,
and together we will remember the bond that we once shared so many years ago.

 I give them back.
Take care of them for the will always be precious to me.
Remember that I shall always have an interest in your child.
I want to know where they go, what they do,
and I can't wait to see what they become.
In my heart I will always share their joys and sorrows
because we have become life long friends.

It has been an honor and my privilege to be your child's Kindergarten teacher.

That last poem is so true, when I see my teachers from all those years ago, my eyes light up and a smile comes across my face.  Teachers play a major role in our lives, especially as young children.

It's Father's Day

Days like today are bittersweet when, you are like me, and have a dead beat father who would only show his ass around you if you won the lottery.  Daddy issues have since long gone and I am thankful to have a man in my life who is a wonderful man to three wonderful children.  One of whom is not his by blood, but rather by blood.  He has raised her since she was seven months old.  My eldest is extremely blessed to have two fathers in her life that love her and cherish her.

So HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all of the fathers out there that take care of their children and are raising them right, as well as to the mommies that are stuck doing double duty.  It's not easy for a single mom to raise a son and show him how to be a good man - but they do it every day.  Cheers to you.

So yea....

This is what happens when you want 3 children to all look at you and smile at once...

The baby just wanted to play in the dirt, my son just wanted to see "cock-a-dials" (of which we have none in CT) and my daughter wanted to go play.  So yea.  My bribes got a FEW smiles though...

No matter how nuts they drive me and how badly I just want to run away screaming sometimes, they are worth every moment of it.  I love them more than life itself.  Forever and ever.

And just a word to the wise:  Edit pictures and make colleges and put separate pictures on one page.. it is almost the ONLY way to get a perfect portrait the more kids you add to the mix... And of course the best picture out of them all was WAY too bright so I tried to edit it.... le sigh

When life throws you lemons... Throw them bitches back!

So we are going to the park to take the kids portraits.  This title is how I am probably going to end up feeling by the end.  Having three children, ages 15 months - 5 years, sit still and SMILE ALL AT ONCE for pictures is easier said that done and a very tiring process.  But I am in a good mood today and it is beautiful out, so I have hope that they will be awesome today.

If all else fails - BRIBE BRIBE BRIBE!  Bribe the baby with food and "ba" and bride the elder children with going to the park.  If they don't sit their asses still and smile - no park for them.  If the way my baby is acting now - this is going to be like pulling teeth.

Well wish me luck - off to shower and get children ready.  Ugh this is about a two hour process.  What fun what fun.

Hello all!!

Hi!!! I'm Mommy W living in Connecticut.  Yea wooo freakin whooo.  I grew up and work in the "big city" and am really kinda busy.  I, first and foremost, have three beautiful children: Isabella, Elijah and Sofia.  They are my light, my life, my everything.  I also work full time at a busy specialty medical office.  In addition to those two jobs I go to school full time. I am aspiring to be a nurse, but I don't know how far that's going to go I just don't know if I can do it.  I am also married (and have been for 4 years to a wonderful - but sometimes annoying - man.)

Some things about me:

I LOVE TO HAVE FUN!  Girls time is few and far between but it's well worth it when it happens.  In fact tomorrow I am having girls night with Le & Wifey.  (Sorry no real names :p)  I have the BEST friends in the world.  Some of my favorite shows are... dun dun dun BONES, NCIS, CASTLE & The Mentalist.  I can't wait for September.  I am also obsessed with Secret Life of The American Teenager. (Lame I know.)

That's it for now... but stay tuned for more ramblings of an overworked and underpaid mom!
